Information Briefings
Thank you to those parents and carers who attended the Reading Briefing on 24th September. The slides can be found here.
Autumn One
We have loved seeing everyone back in school looking super smart in their uniforms after the summer break.
Click here for the Autumn One Curriculum Overview including the essential knowledge questions for this half term.
Geography
Our Country
We have been naming and locating the four different countries of the United Kingdom and the surrounding seas. The children had to name, locate and identify the capital city for each one.
Art
Sculpture
The children had to investigate how rolling paper can create 3D structures, then they designed a simple sculpture using paper cylinders. We moved onto manipulate paper to create a desired effect, such as folding, twisting, rolling, etc to create a 3D structure. We used these different techniques to replicate the 'Tree of Life' created by Marco Balich.
Computing
Online Safety
We learnt about what the internet is and how it can be used. We recognised the internet may affect your mood or emotions and how it can upset others. We then identified which information is appropriate to share and post online and which is not.
Science
Materials
Music
Keeping the pulse
Children had to clap the rhythm of their names in time with the pulse, sway or tap along to the beat, and sing rhythms in sync with the pulse. The children copied rhythms based on word patterns using instruments, kept a steady pulse whilst playing, and followed instructions during their performances.
Religion
Creation and Covenant
The children have encountered Bible texts where God creates and calls people. They are exploring the belief that everything come from God through texts of the Book of Genesis and develop reflective thoughts of the Psalms. They have heard accounts of God's love for people expressed in the covenants (promises) found in the Old Testament.
