Young Voices 2025

On Thursday 6th February, we took our choir of 65 children to Co-op Live, Manchester to take part in the Young Voices Concert within a massed choir of 7981 children.

The children had an amazing time singing with the massed choir and some special guests including the amazing 14 year-old singing sensation, Souparnika Nair, the World Book Day hero, MC Grammar and the fabulous Strictly Come Dancing singer, Tommy Blaize.

They also enjoyed dancing with Andy Instone and the Urban Strides troupe.

The atmosphere on the coach into Manchester was electric, the excitement built as we drew closer to our destination!

The afternoon rehearsals were great fun and prepared us for the evening concert. We  were thrilled to discover that our seats had an excellent view of the stage.

The children and staff were very excited to have the opportunity to see the performing artists and the musicians and to be able to practice all the songs we had been busy learning at school.

The actual performance was an amazing experience. The children loved seeing all the torches lit up at once, and were transfixed by the amazing lighting displays by the Young Voices technical staff.

Everyone sang and danced their hearts out, and it was lovely to see so many happy smiling faces.

The children behaved beautifully throughout the day, and it was great to see them making friends with pupils from the other schools around us.

During the afternoon, we were part of a worldwide singalong with over 100,000 children taking part across the globe. The main event was live streamed from the Co-op Live Arena to celebrate the 80th Birthday of the musical legend, Bob Marley. Two of our pupils were interviewed by Ian Haslam and appeared on BBC North West Tonight as part of their coverage of the event.

The beginning of the concert!

After we had eaten our tea, it was finally time to get 'Concert Ready' with our T-Shirts and tiny torches.

Once the audience began to arrive, we had fun trying to spot our family and friends who had come along to support us.

Marley Magic - the Finale!

It was slightly quieter on the coach back to school, but the smiles were still enormous! Everyone had an absolutely amazing time and we can't wait to register for Young Voices 2026!
